Do you know what the Dark Web is and how it works. Nowadays almost everybody uses internet. People use the Internet for different kinds of work like reading news, watching videos, using social media etc. We mostly use the web to do information exchange, which is called the World Wide Web.

You already know that whatever information is on the web, we can easily access it with the help of our Web Browser. But you will be surprised to know that whatever we do daily access on the Internet and which we can easily search in any search engine, it is only 4% of the entire Internet, the rest 96% of the Internet common people can not search.

All search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, they are able to explore only 4% of the entire web. This shows that a large part of the Internet is out of our reach. This largest part of the Internet is called Deep Web and Dark Web. In this article, we will know in full detail what the Dark Web is and why people call it dangerous?

What is the Dark Web?
The internet or web we use is divided into three parts which are given below -

  1. Surface Web, 2. Deep Web and 3. Dark Web

In this, Surface Web is the web that can be explored by search engines like Google, Bing etc., meaning that all the websites that come within the Surface Web can be opened by these search engines. Furthermore, the part of the Web that cannot be explored by these search engines because Google and other search engines are prohibited from indexing and crawling these websites.

But if we have the URL of that website, then that website can be opened by search engine but these passwords remain protected. This type of web is called Deep Web. It contains information about Banking Information, Database Information, Secret Agency.

In addition, the Dark Web is a part of the entire Web that can neither be searched nor opened by any search engine like Google etc. A Dark Web website cannot be opened by a common browser such as Chrome, Opera, Firefox etc. It is opened from a different browser called Tor Browser. Tor Browser is also called Dark Web Browser.

The Dark Web is called the Internet black part because the Dark Web contains all illegal things like Drug Selling, Hacking, Pornography etc. These things happen in the dark web because it is difficult to track anyone in the dark web.

How Does Dark Web Work?
The website of the dark web is completely different from a normal website because it can neither be searched by any search engine nor can be opened from a common browser like Chrome, Opera, Firefox. The Dark Web is opened with Tor Browser. Apart from this, the domains of the Dark Web are also not like the common domain, it contains websites by doing.

Dark Web is opened with TOR browser and it is also necessary to have a VPN. If you do not have a VPN, you can still open the Dark Web because it already has some VPNs. VPN is used in Dark Web because the website cannot track Visitor. Let’s understand it well -

Whenever we visit a website, our IP address goes on its server, with the help of which we can be tracked like our ISP (Internet Service Provider), Location, Device information etc. But if any website is visited using VPN (Virtual Private Network), then our real IP will not go to it, but the IP of that VPN will go. In this way we find it difficult to track. The same happens in Tor Browser. VPN is used to stop tracking and VPN changes every 5 to 10 minutes in Tor Browser, which also changes the user’s IP.

How to access dark web?
A VPN and Tor Browser are required to access the Dark Web because the Dark Web cannot be accessed from a normal browser. Surfing the Dark Web for a normal user can be quite difficult because you do not easily get Dark Web Link in it. Anyway, there is no need of Dark Web for a normal user. To run Dark Web, Tor Browser has to be installed in the computer first. Then after clicking on Connect you will be connected to Tor’s network.

After connecting you will be shown your IP Address on Tor Dashboard which will not be your Real IP. Meaning if you visit any website, the same IP will go on its server. But still you cannot hide completely, if you do any Hacking Activity, then you can be tracked. If Main talks, then people use the Dark Web to hide their identity so that any website they are visiting is about them.
